Following the retirement of the Savannah Jazz Band in November 2025, a several of the members decided they wanted to continue playing and have formed, together with some new faces, ‘Louisiana Nights’.
The new band aims to follow on in the ‘Savannah’ tradition, playing in the New Orleans revivalist style. We hope that we achieve this aim and are looking forward to meeting friends and supporters who have followed the ‘Savannah’ over the years.
The new line up will be Simon James trumpet, Roger Bird reeds, Derek Galloway trombone, Chris Marney banjo, Tony Pollitt bass and Graham Smith Drums
